I’m living in a foreign land, where there’s peace and quiet,
But everything inside of me is far from being silent.
I cry and pray for Ukraine, mourning in my soul,
Overcome with helplessness, watching this war unfold.
I call my friends and family just to see if they’re alright,
Every single day, hoping they lived through the night.
Pray, is all that I can do, with hope and faith!
My path may lay in a distant land, but in my heart, Ukraine remains.
A poem dedicated to my birth country that’s currently under a brutal attack from Russia.
